What is this site for?

This website lists local celebrants in Essex and London who have requested to be featured and have been accepted after passing a DBS check and providing proof of public liability insurance.  All celebrants on the site have also undergone Safeguarding training courses and have passed their Level 2 Safeguarding certificates. While all listed celebrants meet these requirements, their services are offered entirely independently.

www.trusted-celebrants.com is not accountable for any social media posts or blogs on individual featured celebrants social media platforms or websites.

Can any celebrant request to be added to this website?

 

​

If a celebrant lives in Essex or London, they can apply to be added to our register. We ask that they have at least two years of experience leading funeral services. They’ll also need to provide proof of a clean DBS check and valid public liability insurance.  Also proof of their Safeguarding Level 2 certificate.

How much does it cost to join this website and be a featured celebrant on the site?

Our register of DBS checked and insured celebrants is free of charge to join.  There is also no ongoing monthly charge for you to be part of this website.

What is the benefit of being listed on the website as a trusted celebrant?

The website was created to give families and funeral directors peace of mind, ensuring the person leading a funeral service has been DBS checked, safeguarding trained and certificated and carries proper public liability insurance. It exists purely for that purpose, with no financial gain involved, and serves as a simple register of celebrants to offer reassurance during a sad and difficult time.

By joining this register, you’re not only connecting with like-minded, DBS-checked celebrants who want the very best for the families they serve, but also becoming part of a friendly network that supports each other every day. The celebrants listed here regularly share ideas for suitable wording and readings for funerals, offering help to their peers.

 

 

Do the celebrants on this website have any ongoing support?

 

 

We’ve built our own professional development and support within the group, and we pride ourselves on being open, transparent, and always willing to help one another freely and voluntarily.

What if I have an issue or a complaint about one of the celebrants listed on this website?

​

If you have an issue or a complaint/concern about any of the celebrants listed on our website, it would perfectly acceptable to complain to your funeral director or contact the celebrant directly.  Our approach is for families to make their complaint or concerns known to your chosen funeral director, as every funeral and every problem that can arise is personal and individual and may not always be solely the celebrant's fault.

Naturally, if a celebrant causes great distress to a family and the situation cannot be resolved in a reasonable manner, then that celebrant may be removed from this website.  All celebrants are made aware of this when they join.

All celebrants have their own style of leading funeral services.  Funeral Directors often match suitable celebrants to families.
