This website lists local celebrants in Essex and London who have requested to be featured and have been accepted after passing a DBS check and providing proof of public liability insurance. All celebrants on the site have also undergone Safeguarding training courses and have passed their Level 2 Safeguarding certificates. While all listed celebrants meet these requirements, their services are offered entirely independently.

The site does not promote any celebrant’s services; it is up to families and funeral directors to choose who they feel is best suited to lead a funeral service for their loved one or client’s loved one.

Can any celebrant request to be added to this website?
If a celebrant lives in Essex or London, they can apply to be added to our register. We ask that they have at least two years of experience leading funeral services. They’ll also need to provide proof of a clean DBS check and valid public liability insurance. Also proof of their Safeguarding Level 2 certificate.
How much does it cost to join this website and be a featured celebrant on the site?
Our register of DBS checked and insured celebrants is free of charge to join. There is also no ongoing monthly charge for you to be part of this website.

What if I have an issue or a complaint about one of the celebrants listed on this website?
If you have an issue or a compaint/concern about any of the celebrants listed on our website, it would perfectly acceptable to complain to your funeral director or contact the celebrant directly. Whilst there may be other websites claiming to hold 'authority' over self - employed celebrants, our approach is for families to make their complaint or concerns known to your chosen funeral director, as every funeral and every problem that can arise is personal and individual. Naturally, if a celebrant causes great distress to a family and the situation cannot be resolved in a reasonable manner, then that celebrant may be removed from this website. All celebrants are made aware of this when they join.
